Olyn Wernsing, MD

Dr. Olyn R. Wernsing was born and raised on a farm near Chokio, Minnesota. He graduated from North Dakota State University in Fargo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology, and graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in Minneapolis in 1974. He completed his family practice residency at Fairview/St. Mary's Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dr. Wernsing has practiced in Morris since August of 1977. He is a member of the Stevens Community Medical Center Board of Directors. Dr. Wernsing serves as a member of the peer review committee at SCMC. He is also Medical Director of Infection Control and Quality. He is a member of the American Board of Family Practice. In addition to general family practice, his practice includes obstetrics and the University of Minnesota, Morris Health Services.

Dr. Wernsing and his wife, Carleen, have two grown sons: Shane and Tyler. His interest include hunting, fossil hunting, and collecting seashells from the Gulf of Mexico on annual trips to Sanibel Island.
