SCMC is Falling BACK into Health Nov. 1!

Website News Graphic (27)

After a COVID hiatus from Fall into Health SCMC is planning for the Fall BACK into Health event on Tuesday, November 1! The event will be open from 5-7 pm at the Morris Area Elementary School. There will be a FREE grab bag, a chance to win an SCMC SaviorSkin skincare line of products! There’s definitely something for all ages! It’s been a couple of years but the main attractions of this event are still the same with FREE Labs, a FREE community meal, health-related info booths, and flu shots available. Daycare will be available for ages 2 and up and a translator will be onsite as well.

FREE COMMUNITY MEAL
A FREE fall-inspired community meal will consist of Beef Chili, Willie’s softie roll, Harvest Salad, and Apple Tart dessert. There will also be a vegetarian gluten-free chili option. SCMC works diligently to find a healthy balance and source items locally for this meal. There will be recipe cards and nutrition information visible at the event too!

FREE LAB DRAWS
The FREE lab screenings that SCMC offers have been a crowd favorite too. Labs will be drawn starting at 5:00 and ending at 7:00 pm. The labs that are drawn include Glucose, Cholesterol, Hemoglobin (Hgb), and Vitamin D. Your results will be mailed back to you in a week or less. It is up to you to share these results with your primary care provider, but it is also very helpful for you to know your numbers so you can keep your health a priority! If there are any alarming values found from an event that SCMC draws labs at, you will be notified.

HEALTH-RELATED INFO BOOTHS
There will be a variety of information booths showcasing different health-related topics. SCMC will have a number of their services and staff onsite as well. If you are interested and have a ‘healthy-initiative that relates to our community please reach out to SCMC Marketing Department at (320) 589-7631 OR you can also sign up your booth on our website.

FLU SHOT CLINIC
It would not be a complete health event without offering flu shots! Flu shots will be located in the concession stand area. You do need to register in advance. You can sign up online here, otherwise, you can call (320) 589-7600. Appointments will be from 5-7 pm.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
As always in an event of this nature, we are kindly asking for individuals and groups that would be interested and willing in volunteering that day. We are looking for help setting up, tearing down, clearing tables during meal, helping serve meal, dish duty, and also Spanish translators to have on hand. If you would like to help out and volunteer in any of these areas please reach out to the Outreach Coordinator at (320) 208-7803 or sign up to volunteer on our website.

You are invited to join us in promoting and improving health for all! Fall BACK into Health is a community health initiative sponsored by Stevens Community Medical Center that focuses on connecting our health-related community resources to the general public. Together we can make our community a healthier place!
