ONCOLOGY | Infusion Therapy

Infusion therapy involves the delivery of liquid medications to the body intravenously (or directly into a vein). The majority of patients in need of our services have been referred by their primary care physician and are usually receiving treatment for cancer or a blood disorder, though we do provide IV therapy for other conditions as well.

We emphasize hope, a positive outlook, and education throughout your entire treatment process. Our staff of certified professionals is dedicated to your care, and maintains a “patient first” attitude at all times. We go out of our way to help you be physically and emotionally comfortable, and well-informed with the best possible educational resources available throughout the course of your treatment.

We offer Oncology and Hematology clinic with Dr. Wade Swenson who is both an Oncologist and Hematologist.
Our major services include:

  • Chemo-therapy and bio-therapy
  • IV Antibiotics
  • Blood transfusions
  • Intravenous medications for osteoporosis

What To Expect

Typically, we will call you to set up an appointment once you have been referred by a physician. Then, we will work closely with you to coordinate your treatment needs.

We have five individual “bays”, each containing a recliner, where you can sit privately and relax while receiving treatment. Some treatments may require 8 to 9 hours to complete, so we provide a variety of human comforts to make the experience as comfortable and peaceful as possible. We offer coffee, cookies, juice, and a warm blanket. You may also choose to watch television, listen to music, or read a book.

We encourage you to bring family members or friends to be a part of your treatment. Not only do these people offer moral support and companionship, but they are also frequently an extra set of ears hearing instructions and advice from your doctor and caregivers.

We encourage patients to be educated about their illness and take an active role in managing their treatment plan. To assist, we provide trustworthy educational resources that will help you understand the specifics of your illness and empower you to make informed decisions regarding your treatment.

Staff

All of our nursing staff is certified in both bio-therapy and chemo-therapy, as well as “Safe Handling” certified to administer medications. Our staff are professionals who care for patients and will go out of their way to make sure you have the best treatment experience possible.
