Hear from our Employees

"I am a people person and I LOVE helping others. Although it's just a meal, the knowledge that I am able to contribute to the well-being of others is gratifying. Getting to know my colleagues. Not just in my department but in all departments. I enjoy putting a smile on their faces. Working here allows me to contribute to the care of patients and staff. We are all in need of CARE, and it makes me happy to help."

Working at the Courage Cottage has made me value the little things in life. Many of our residents have lived long lives, lived through many life experiences, have great life perspectives and many lessons to share. Being a part of making every day a blessing for others and contributing to quality life is a work goal for me. Getting to know and care for our residents has made me aware of and appreciate life’s lessons lived by others.

My clinical time at SCMC was an excellent learning experience. The entire staff and the medical staff were so welcoming and willing to help me learn as well. SCMC is a fantastic place to learn the day-to-day of a busy rural practice, and to see how important its services are for the community. I'm really grateful for the SCMC staff and how great everyone was!"

Marta L.

"Through the years we have seen many changes but one thing has remained constant, the outstanding level of care that we provide. This is a direct result of the wonderful people I have been blessed to call co-workers, teammates, and friends. I enjoy coming to work, knowing that I will be greeted by my first name by a friend. The board, administration, and staff all work towards a common goal of making our patients the number one priority while making sure ALL of the employees know they are the stalwarts of the organization. I take pride in knowing that I have been a part of continuing to make SCMC a great place to work as well as an excellent source of healthcare. Explore your possibility of being a part of this amazing SCMC team!"

"Mental health is just as important as physical health! SCMC is ahead of the curve by offering such a wide array of services in a rural setting, including our outpatient mental health clinic. It is so important to feel valued and supported by your employer, and SCMC has provided a wonderful environment for growth throughout my training and licensure. My favorite part of working at SCMC is seeing our behavioral medicine team advocating for our patients; and the sense of community and support we provide to one another as colleagues!"

Jennifer G.

"I love my job at SCMC because I'm given the opportunity to practice a specialty that not only am I truly passionate about but also am able to work with an amazing group of people who share that same passion.  My co-workers are so knowledgeable, helpful, compassionate and a pleasure to work with. I actually enjoy coming to work each day."
