In-Patient Care

Stevens Community Medical Center is a 25-bed, critical access hospital. We strive to offer comprehensive medical systems that meet the patients’ needs in an atmosphere that promotes healing and comfort.

Acute Care

SCMC provides care to a range of patients on the Acute Care Unit. Care is managed by an excellent team of doctors and nurses who treat patients who are admitted for pneumonia, fall injuries, a variety of infections, diabetes management, management of heart conditions, and many more diagnoses. The Acute Care Unit contains specific rooms set aside for patients recovering from Orthopedic surgeries and also isolation rooms for COVID-19 positive patients.

Swing Bed

There are times when patients, following an acute care hospitalization, need more time to get physically stronger and participate in a therapy program for rehabilitation before they return to their home.  Stevens Community Medical Center can provide that service to those patients who qualify through the Swing Bed Program.  Patients can expect to participate in daily Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapies, and if needed IV Medication Therapy while receiving 24-hour nursing care in private rooms.

ICU

The Intensive Care Unit provides care to patients with a higher level of acuity. These patients are more closely monitored and include patients on high-risk IV medications, more critical post-op patients, and patients who have increased oxygenation needs.
