Dr. Steven Strinden, a board-certified Urologist joined Stevens Community Medical Center in July 2021. He was born in Valley City, North Dakota, and raised in Litchville, a town of about 200 people, with only 21 kids in his graduating high school class he full-heartedly understands rural living and small-town life.
He attended undergraduate school at the University of North Dakota and went to medical school at the University of North Dakota as well and after two years transferred to Loyola University in Suburban Chicago where he completed his clinical years of Medical School and also did his Urology residency.
Dr. Strinden spent his entire career in Fargo, ND, first in private practice and then went on to work for Essentia Health for many years.
After reaching retirement age, he realized he missed the comradery of working with people in the hospitals. The friendship and trust that his patients have given him and the satisfaction at the end of each day that comes from the care that he provides and being able to say, ‘I did good today, I was of some value today.’
Dr. Strinden will provide outreach services for Urology at SCMC. He is married and calls Fargo home.

Dr. Strinden’s focus is on the urinary tract system. His scope of practice encompasses the kidneys, bladder, ureter, urethra, and the reproductive system of men. Dr. Strinden performs both arthroscopic and open procedures.
