The Stevens Community Medical Center hosted its 2nd Annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, bringing together 55 enthusiastic trotters for a frosty but fun start to the holiday. Despite the frigid temperatures, families, runners, and walkers bundled up to participate in this free 2K/5K walk–run tradition.
Trotters also supported the community by donating [XX lbs] of food to the Stevens County Food Shelf. All donations were delivered following the event as part of SCMC’s ongoing commitment to supporting local families. The event also included a festive post-race drawing where 12 lucky participants took home free pies. Crowd favorite Turbo the Turkey kept spirits high—cheering on participants, posing for photos, and spreading Thanksgiving cheer throughout the route.
Although the trot was not a timed race, SCMC recognized top finishers in each division:
5K Winners: Male: Carter Cruise | Female: Caroline Collet
2K Winners: Male: Adam Lesmeister | Female: Mia Asche
5K — 12 & Under: Male: Parker Albrecht | Female: Chloe Coon
2K — 12 & Under: Male: Jace Holland | Female: Hadlee Lesmeister
“We’re incredibly grateful for our community’s enthusiasm and generosity,” SCMC Marketing Director, Angie Cole stated. The Turkey Trot has quickly become a heartwarming tradition, and we’re excited to announce it will be back Thanksgiving Day next year.
SCMC extends a warm thank you to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, or simply came out to cheer.
