Precepting

SCMC accepts Advanced Practice Professionals needing precepting hours for clinical rotations or residency programs.

Shadowing Opportunities

High school and college undergrad students who are interested in a healthcare career may find it helpful to shadow a department at SCMC. Availability will depend upon each department's ability to accommodate the request. Some areas to shadow include:

  • With a Provider
  • With a Nurse
  • Lab Dept
  • Radiology Dept
  • With Registered Dietitian
  • Administration
  • Business Office
  • Marketing

EARN WHILE YOU LEARN! SCMC is a proud supporter of the Dual Training Pipeline education and collaboration program. SCMC, along with area colleges and funding from a grant are able to help in  educating of students entering into particular healthcare fields (ie. LPN, Rad Techs, Lab Techs.) Individuals gain an education while working hands-on in their role with paid on the job training, flexible schedules. Students must be accepted and enrolled in the programs when classes start.

Internship Opportunities

SCMC is proud to offer the Summer Health Care Internship Program (SHCIP). This grant allows juniors in high school, that are interested in pursuing a career in health care, an opportunity to work in a health care setting and shadow during the summer. Applications will be posted in mid-April.

Volunteer & Shadowing

Volunteering at SCMC offers a wonderful way to give back to the community. We have a number of active volunteers that share a common goal of supporting the health and welfare of our patients.
