Understanding Parkinson’s: Empowering Lives – New Support & Fitness Group offered at SCMC
Stevens Community Medical Center (SCMC) is proud to introduce a Parkinson’s Fitness Group, a new community support and fitness program for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease. This initiative is designed to promote health, wellness, and community through a variety of engaging sessions.
Participants can look forward to fitness activities, nutrition guidance, guest speakers, camaraderie, and more—all tailored to meet the unique needs of those with Parkinson’s. The program encourages movement, social connection, and empowerment, helping participants maintain independence and improve quality of life.
The sessions will be held:
- 3rd Thursday of each month, starting January 15, 2026, from 3:30–4:30 PM
- 1st Tuesday of each month, starting February 2026, from 10:30–11:30 AM
All sessions will be held in the upstairs Cardiac Rehab Gym of SCMC and are FREE to attend. All Parkinson’s patients are welcome to join, even if you are not a current patient at SCMC.
For more information or to register, contact the NovaCare Dept at SCMC at 320-589-7658.
Please note: If no one shows within 10 minutes the group session will be cancelled. For weather-related cancellations the class will follow the SCMC closing guidelines. If NovaCare is closed, class will be cancelled. Closing information will be shared here on the SCMC website, SCMC social media handles, and local KKOK/KMRS radio staions.
