We are saddened to announce the passing of Cara Nachbor, Family Nurse Practitioner at SCMC, on June 23.
Cara was part of the SCMC team for over 25 years, and her loss leaves a hole in the hearts of her family, friends, patients, and coworkers. We were truly fortunate to have had Cara as part of our healthcare family—sharing her kind, caring clinical expertise with the community she loved and served so faithfully.
Cara embodied the heart of rural healthcare. She cared deeply for her patients and approached each day with warmth, professionalism, and quiet strength. Her calm and compassionate presence touched countless lives.
She faced her illness with remarkable courage, positivity, and grace—an inspiration to all who knew her. Her absence will be felt deeply, but her legacy will live on in the many lives she impacted.
A Celebration of Life for Cara Nachbor will take place at the Herman Community Center on Friday, June 27, from 4–8 p.m.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Cara’s family, loved ones, and the entire community. She will be sorely missed and forever remembered.
