Stevens Community Medical Center, a critical access hospital and clinic, has a full-time position available within it’s Patient Account Services Department for a Medical Coding Specialist.
The right candidate must possess strong communication and analytical skills, have the ability to multi-task, have excellent problem-solving capability and be a self-starter. Responsibilities include converting diagnoses and procedures into appropriate codes using ICD, CPT, and/or HCPCS as well as completing day-to-day administrative tasks. This position works closely with providers and other team members regarding documentation of all aspects of coding compliance.
Coding experience and degree/certification preferred. Certificated expected within 12 months of employment. This position is mostly remote, with one day onsite per week after successful completion of probationary period.
